3 Faux Trees You Need in Your Home

Adding plants and greenery in my home is one of my favorite ways to breathe new life into a space. They easily brighten up a room and add an organic vibe, but the truth is I don’t love taking care of living plants. They can require a lot of work and upkeep. However, the great news is that there are some AMAZING faux plants out there that you truly would never know are fake. Because of that, I don’t hesitate to pick one up when I find a good one. Faux trees are my favorite to sprinkle throughout the house as accent decor. I’ve rounded up 3 faux trees you need in your home that will suit any design style. I have examples of how I style these trees below, but if you want to see it in action, check out my reel HERE.

If you are interested in other design trends, check out my last post on 5 interior design trends of 2023 HERE.

Minimalist Architectural Tree

faux trees

On my entryway table, I currently have a minimalist citrus artificial tree that is 5 feet tall. The minimalist look of the tree creates a lovely silhouette, and adds a subtle amount of color to the space with its small green leaves. It’s perfect for this space because it does not take away from the other decor on the table.

I styled it with tapered candles and candlesticks to add different levels of height compared to the tree. Adding the book holder and decorative boxes also add differentiated levels of height and really bring the table together in one cohesive look. You can easily change the look of this tree by changing out the planter. I currently have it in this chic black jar.

Mini Olive Tree

faux tree

Olive trees are one of my favorite faux trees to use because they are so versatile in size. I have a 2.5 foot one in my bathroom, and it is the perfect size for this small space. I wanted the bathroom to feel like a spa-like experience. The olive tree adds a natural vibe and sense of calm that is perfect next to the shower.

I kept the other decor simple since this is a small space in my bathroom. I have a small basket with washcloths and a candle. Then I chose to add natural wool sponges to add some texture to the table, and the bonus is that these can be used for bathing!

Japanese Maple

faux trees

Lastly, another one of my favorite faux trees are Japanese Maple Trees. They add the perfect touch of the outdoors to your home with the lush, vibrant, lifelike leaves. This one is 4 feet tall and located in my living room on this gorgeous Santos side table.

One thing I love about using faux trees is that you don’t really have to worry about what height they come in. You can raise the height by stacking books underneath the tree and add to the overall aesthetic, or you can repurpose a pot or a basket for an elevated look. The possibilities are endless!

5 Interior Design Trends of 2023

With spring right around the corner, I’m always reminded of how so many things start fresh and new. While I may not be making many big changes in my home right now, I know some of you will be! Interior design is one of my absolute favorite ways to express myself and show my creativity. I feel as though my personality really shines throughout my home, so I thought it would be fun to share 5 interior design trends of 2023 that I’m loving. Many of these are already in my home, so you can have a great visual for what they look.

If you aren’t planning on making any big design changes in your home, but you are still wanting a fresh look, check out my spring home refresh ideas blogpost HERE.

Natural or Wood Grain Cabinetry

Ever since Joanna and Chip Gaines came onto the interior design scene, the natural or farmhouse look has been very popular. With that comes the natural or wood grain cabinetry that has seen a huge reemergence. They are ideal in all areas of the house because they are timeless, clean, and easy to mix with other design styles. The lighter shades of wood are most popular right now, like the white oak we have in our primary bathroom. We used a custom stain, but it still leaves the integrity of the natural wood.

Leaving the cabinetry in its more natural state allows room for exploring different design styles. For example, you can easily mix different metals for hardware or textiles for counter tops. Having wood grain cabinetry in a home allows for adding color in other ways, without taking away from their simplicity. This style of cabinetry can find its place in any style of home, whether its modern, eclectic, or traditional.

Nature Inspired Wallpaper

Wallpaper is making a huge comeback this year, and I caved to this trend as well. Nature inspired wallpaper specifically is really popular. There are many designs to choose from, like floral and botanical to birds and other animals. I chose this beautiful earthy wallpaper for our water closet in the master bathroom. It makes a big impact in a small space, but you can use it in a variety of spaces in a home.

Fresh and vibrant natured inspired wallpaper can really bring a new perspective to a room. It really freshens up a space and makes it feel new again. Some of these wallpapers can even add texture and dimension to a room because they are made with natural fibers. I linked a variety of options to fit any style!

Accent Walls

Accent Walls

A really easy way to add a quick but noticeable change to a home is to add an accent wall. It really helps to define a space, and can be done with just a quick paint change. If you are up for a challenge, wallpaper works well too! In my home, I chose to add an accent wall to the home office. I love warm and bold tones, so I chose a dark green color. I love how it adds a pop of color and dimension to the room.

There are many different ways to display an accent wall in your home. You can make it a statement wall by choosing a bright color or a patterned wallpaper. Another popular design option is creating a geometric pattern using wood paneling. An accent wall could also be used as a backdrop in a room. For example, in a bedroom you can add a backdrop that will complement your furniture to create a cohesive look. The possibilities are endless!

Oversized Pendant Lights

pendant lights, interior design trends of 2023

Shop the Post

Oversized pendant lights are a huge trend right now, and I fully believe the hype. They look great above a kitchen table or an island. We have them in our kitchen above the island, and I love the way they bring the room together. They make a dramatic statement, but they are also practical because they supply a ton of light for when we’re cooking or preparing food.

The great thing about this trend is that it can be done in any price range. If you are on a tighter budget, there are plenty of options that still look high end. If you have more money to allocate towards pendant lights, there are many beautiful more expensive options as well. I’ve linked several in all price ranges, so I know there is something for everyone!

Curves & Arches

The last trend is curves and arches! Curves and arches are becoming increasingly popular in furniture and even in the architecture of homes. Adding an arch or a curve in the design of a home elevates the space, giving it a unique look. It also creates a focal point and defines the space with a beautiful contrast to so many linear elements that are usually in homes.

I’m loving the look of the curved furniture trend this year as well. With rounded corners and arched shapes, these pieces add a soft feature to a room, while also making a statement. For example, a curved sofa is designed with edges that are curved and draw the eye in and gives a relaxing and laidback feel. Unlike some of the other geometric shapes that have a rigid feel, the curves offer a welcoming look.

Your Guide to Kitchen Island Lighting

A kitchen renovation may be on your list of want-to-do projects for your home. But if you’ve decided to wait a few more years to take on such a big project, there are easy updates you can do right now to completely transform your kitchen. One of those updates being your kitchen island lighting. Updating your kitchen island lighting can give your kitchen a fresh look without having to rip out cabinets. I’m sharing your guide to kitchen island lighting with pendants.

If you don’t need to update your kitchen lighting right now, updating your dining room lighting is also an excellent way to give your home a fresh new look without extensive renovations. Check out my post on dining room light fixtures HERE.

Your Guide to Kitchen Island Lighting

Tips for Island Kitchen Pendant Placement

your guide to kitchen island lighting

There’s actually a method to the madness when it comes to hanging pendants over your island. You want to make sure they’re centered with the island, the right height from the countertops and spaced accurately apart.

When we were designing our kitchen, I wanted the range of our stove to be in the middle of our two pendants when you were looking into the kitchen.

Here are some tips to keep in mind when hanging pendants above your island:

  • There should be 30″-36″ between the bottom of your pendants and your countertops. My husband is 6’1″, so we hung ours at 36″.
  • The distance between your pendants should be at least the same diameter for each pendant. For example, my pendants in our kitchen are 20″ in diameter and the space I have in between them is 22″.
  • There should be at least 6″-10″ to the edge of your countertop on both sides.
  • When you’re measuring your light fixture, you want to measure from the ceiling mount to the bottom of the pendant.

With those measurements in mind, you can then decide if your kitchen island will need two, three or more pendants. Here’s a reel I created to explain these measurements.

your guide to kitchen island lighting

Deciding on the Style of Pendant

With most anything, there are many, many different styles of pendants to choose from. When you’re deciding on what style to choose for your kitchen pendants, you have to look at your overall aesthetic of your kitchen. Is it more farmhouse, modern, midcentury or somewhere in between? Because you’ll most likely have at least two pendants over your island, it’s best to stick with a minimalistic design, so you’re not overpowering the whole look of the kitchen.

When choosing a pendant, you also want the island pendants to look cohesive with the rest of the lighting fixtures used in the kitchen and dining area. If your living room is open to the kitchen, you also want the living room fixtures to flow with the kitchen.

We stuck with a more classic dome-shaped pendant for our kitchen, and love the way they look. Because our kitchen as a lot of light colors, we decided on brass for the pendants to warm up the space.

How Much Light Do You Need

Though you want to be mindful of your pendant’s style, you also want to consider how much light the pendant will give your kitchen. Do these pendants need to provide a good amount of light throughout the entire kitchen? Or do you just need these pendants to brighten up the island itself with more focused lighting?

Opal or Linen Shades

Opal shades are made of glass but have a white cast over the entire light to tone down the level of brightness it provides. So though it provides a consistent brightness for the whole kitchen, it won’t be as bright as if it wear clear glass.

Linen shades are great to use if you love a cozy feel to the space. Much like a lamp on your side table, this provides a similar lighting experience that the opal shade provides – all-over lighting, but not as bright as a clear shade.

Clear Shades

Clear shades give the most consistent and brightest level of lighting for your kitchen. If there isn’t much lighting anywhere else throughout the space or you prefer the island to be the main source of lighting, then I would suggest using a clear or hammered clear glass shade.

Metal Shades

A metal shade is a light that provides concentrated lighting on your island. Because metal is opaque, it doesn’t provide much lighting throughout the space. However, it’s a perfect option if you’re doing a lot of cooking or other activities like homework etc. on the island daily.

The most popular collage this month was from the Nordstrom Home Sale. This sale featured so many cozy items for your bedroom which was perfect after such a busy holiday season because I didn’t want to leave my bed! I’m always on the hunt for the most comfortable pillows to sleep on. I hate when they are too fluffy or too firm. This Casper foam pillow is the perfect in between! It comes in multiple sizes and even has a cooling effect that leaves you feeling comfortable all night long.

I like upgrading my bedding during the winter, so that I can stay warm and toasty all night long. Adding a new down comforter is the perfect way to ensure that coziness. The Luxury All Season Down Comforter from this sale is super plush, and the down is perfectly spread throughout it. It’s still on sale and with a few months of cold weather left, now is the perfect time to snag it!

A unique find from this sale is the Self-Watering Smart Garden. I love having fresh herbs, and this little indoor garden allows me to grow them no matter what season it is. With the price of groceries so high right now, that makes this an even better purchase!

Adding a faux plant like this maple tree or this gypsophila leaf tree adds a touch of color, while still keeping the neutral aesthetic. The best part about faux plants are that they look incredibly realistic, but you don’t have to water them!

The post also included all the details of our black nightstands and lamps. I like keeping the decor on nightstands simple, and adding height with coffee table books.

5 Favorite Small Shops for Home Decor

There’s something special about shopping and supporting small businesses. Behind each one are business owners working hard to deliver the best products to their customers. They generally offer collections specifically curated by the designer and have many unique pieces you can’t find anywhere else. Some of my favorite smaller shops are owned by some of my favorite designers who have decided to lend their style in a more accessible way. When they are providing these collections, they usually have a vision and mission and stay true to who they are. So today, I want to highlight 5 favorite small shops for home decor!

If you are in the midst of refreshing a space in your home and need a new rug, check on my last blog post for my favorite area rugs HERE.

House of Jade

One of my favorite small shops is House of Jade. Founded by two women, their goal is to bring inspiration and attainable design and decor into your home. They are a design team who have curated a wonderful collection of pieces in their shop that they would use in their own homes and for their design clients.

Some of my favorite items in their shop are their accent pieces. Using an accent piece is a great way to add a little something extra to a space. This works great even if you don’t have a lot of extra room. For example, adding a plant, like this Faux Olive Tree can freshen up a space and even better, you don’t have to remember to water it!

Another idea is to add small boxes to a space. My favorite way to do this is by finding some that resemble vintage books. This set of two is perfect for storing small items and can be displayed on a console or bookshelf.

Foundation Goods

Another small shop that I adore is Foundation Goods. The company prides themselves on providing goods that not only make your home pretty, but are purposeful. Their products are chosen to withstand trends and last through changing styles.

Lulu and Georgia is another small business that I love to support. Their mission is to bring beauty into your home and to inspire clients to elevate their style. They love to collaborate with designers to curate one-of-a-kind collections that will fit into any home.

I love using different sizes and shapes of bowls as decorative accents. This Clementine bowl is perfect for a tablescape. It’s hand carved, and the white wash color adds a nice rustic flair to any style.

Adding a vase to a mantel, bookshelf, or console is a great way to give a space a little something extra. I particularly like abstract and modern vases, and this Sina vase would be the perfect addition to any home. It could by styled alone or with dried botanical stems.

Roundup of My Favorite Area Rugs

Hardwood floors is the main type of flooring throughout my home. I love the cohesive look that hardwood floors give to an open floor plan, and are easier to clean when you have pets. However, I incorporate many different area rugs in most of the rooms in the house. They help define spaces, provide texture and make a room feel a bit more cozy. Today, I’m doing a roundup of my favorite area rugs and how I style them.

Roundup of My Favorite Area Rugs

You don’t have to spend thousands of dollars to find a beautiful area rug. Many rugs are now washable or at least more resistant to stains. If you’re purchasing a rug that’s going in a high-traffic area, consider purchasing one that’s washable or easily cleaned.

How I Style Area Rugs in My Home

Main Living Area

living room with a large area rug

SHOP THE ROOM

This is our main living area. If you have hardwood floors in your living room, I suggest placing an area rug in the main sitting area. This not only defines the living space, but also makes it more comfortable to sit on and walk on.

For most of the rugs in our home, I place a pad underneath the rug to provide more cushion and to also keep it in place.

For the living area, you’ll want to place the rug a few inches under the couch. I also made sure there was a bit of hardwood peeking out between the rug and the fireplace.

Primary Bathroom

primary bathroom with a runner-style area rug

SHOP THE ROOM

The next space I like to add an area rug are the bathrooms. It serves two purposes. The first is to break up the tile. The second is so you can stand on this while you’re getting ready. 🙂 We opted for a runner-style rug in our primary bathroom to span the length of the room.

Bedrooms

SHOP THE ROOM

Area rugs look beautiful underneath beds to make the bed the focal point of the room. This is our guest room at our cabin. I wanted to show this space because this room actually has carpet in it.

But that doesn’t mean you can’t layer an area rug over carpet. It still provides the design element of adding texture, dimension and color.

In a bedroom, you can place the rug all the way under the bed and allow it to extend past the bed several feet. Or you can place the rug about half way under the bed too. It just depends on how big the rug is and how big your space is.

primary bedroom with neutral area rug, roundup of my favorite area rugs

SHOP THE ROOM

This is our primary bedroom. We have hardwood floors in the bedrooms and love adding an area rug under the bed. When thinking about what colors and patterns to choose for your area rug, pull colors from the paint color, your decor or other inspiration from the room.

If there’s already lots of pattern in the space from decor, you may want to stick to a rug that doesn’t have much pattern to it to give the space balance.

SHOP THE ROOM

This is our guest bedroom at our home in Utah. As you can see, I’ve incorporated a few different rugs in this space over time. Some area rugs have a higher pile count than others. So if you’re wanting something more fluffy, be sure it has a high pile count.

Home Office

office space with blush area rug

SHOP THE ROOM

This is my secret oasis or better known as my office. It’s actually hidden behind our primary closet. I have carpet in this room, but wanted to add a bit more color and pattern with an area rug. It sits right under my desk, and it adds a cozy feel to the space.

It may still be winter for a while, but that doesn’t mean we can’t be thinking about spring! Studio McGee couldn’t agree more because they have already started releasing their spring line at Target. Everyone knows how much I adore McGee & Co. and no one was more excited when they partnered with Target and created the Studio McGee brand. One of the best things about spring is the warmer weather, and this means spending more time outside. Luckily, Studio McGee thought of this too and added some amazing outdoor items to the spring line.

The variety of colors and French seam design also adds texture, which is the perfect addition to any bedroom style.

This botanical print quilt and matching pillow shams are the perfect addition to this bed. The light teal print will complement most styles, while adding a fresh and updated look. The string ties add a chic touch as well.

Throw Pillows for Any Room in the Home

Pillows and throws

Speaking of pillows, Studio McGee really outdid themselves this time. They have curated a gorgeous collection of pillows, shams, and throws that would go perfectly with most any home style. The colors are so pretty, but subtle so that they won’t throw off any decor that you are already working with.

Adding an oblong pillow is one of my favorite finishing touches on any bed, and they have several that add a pop of color and texture. This woven plaid throw pillow comes in three different colors that are really subtle and pretty. It also has tassel zippers that add a little extra flair! This Watercolor Woodblock pillow has the most gorgeous pattern that I am just obsessed with. I love the teal and camel combination too.

There are also several throws that would match the pillows and complete the look. The teal color of this knit throw is one of my favorites and can be seen in many of the pillows and bedding this season. It’s so soft, and the tassel trim gives it a unique touch.

Clothing

One of the top sellers this year was a CozyChic Lite Long Cardigan by Barefoot Dreams. Everything by Barefoot Dreams is so incredibly soft and cozy, so this cardigan is perfect for the winter season. It comes in multiple colors, and is perfect for lounging around or running errands and will keep you perfectly warm.

Kitchen Items

Next up is one of my favorite kitchen appliances. This 6 Quart Touchscreen Air Fryer is perfect for creating easy and quick meals on busy nights. You can air fry, roast, reheat, or dehydrate your favorite meals and it’s much faster than using a traditional oven. It’s very aesthetically pleasing with its gold accents and also comes in a variety of colors. Once you try it, it’s easy to see why this is a fan favorite!

Another kitchen item that was super popular this year is this Wooden Serving Stand. It’s perfect for slicing and serving foods such as cheese and crackers or cake. The wood finish adds a natural flair to your kitchen as well.

Home Decor

Three of this year’s best sellers were beautiful pieces of artwork. This Hunter in a Landscape piece features a beautiful horse and is a stunning reproduction that could easily be mistaken for the original. It comes with a gold antique-inspired frame and would look gorgeous on any wall.

I love this Summer Pasture wall art from Studio McGee with Target. It would blend in perfectly with any gallery wall and also comes in a gold frame. The last piece of wall decor is this Ancient Fresco Linen print. I love the neutral design of this piece and it would blend in seamlessly with most wall decor you already have.

Other popular home decor items include this storage box. The cream color and the leather accent is such a great neutral. This could be used to store small items or be used purely as an accent piece.

A rug that was a best seller this year was this Persian-style distressed ivory rug. The neutral and distressed look adds warmth, texture, and depth to any space.

Lastly, everyone knows how much I love greenery and this Plum Cimicifuga Seeded Garland was a huge top seller. It adds a beautiful nature-inspired look to your mantle or would be perfect in a tablescape. The plum purple color is so gorgeous in person.

Additionally, this Ficus tree adds life and warmth to any area in your home and is perfect year-round. It’s amazingly real looking without the hassle of a real tree and would be perfect in an entryway or living room.

That about does it for the top 10 best sellers of 2022! What do you want to see in 2023? Let me know in the comments!

This first set of Amazon kitchen essentials includes items that I use almost daily. They help my kitchen stay clean and organized, so that I don’t have a lot of wasted time. First up is this gold step stool. It’s aesthetically pleasing, comes it multiple finishes, and is perfect for those hard to reach items in your kitchen. I love that it folds up for easy storage as well.

This cordless handheld vacuum is the perfect lightweight cleaning device and only weighs 1.2 pounds. It’s small but mighty with super strong suction power and is perfect for those smaller kitchen spills and messes.

A unique find is this stainless steel Rub-a-Way bar that removes odors from your hands. It looks like a regular bar of soap, but is actually stainless steel. It’s perfect for those pungent foods like garlic and fish and can be used with or without water.

For keeping my pantry organized, I’m obsessed with using these airtight storage containers. They come in a variety of sizes and are perfect for keeping our dry goods fresh, longer. Adding labels is a great way to add another level of organization too.

I also love this storage alternative for plastic baggies. You can store all of your different size baggies in one place without needing 5 different boxes to sort through.

I’m always on the hunt for a soap dispenser that I actually like, and I finally found one. This soap dispenser is touch-free and rechargeable. It comes in several finishes and doesn’t clog. It’s definitely a must have!

I have a ton of spices and can never find the one I’m looking for when I need it. That problem was easily solved when I found this pullout spice rack. Now I can find what I’m looking for without taking everything out of the cabinet!

To make things even more organized, these glass canisters are great if you have loose spices or other dried goods. I use these labels and just love how everything looks nice and uniform.

Lastly, I’ve been using these electric salt and pepper grinders. I really like the sleek and modern look of them, and they’re perfect for Himalayan salt and larger peppercorns.

The Best Splurge vs. Save Finds

One of my favorite things to do in my home is mix high end pieces with more affordable finds. I love it even more when I can find an affordable item that looks just like a more expensive version. I decided to challenge myself and find items that have a less expensive twin. So without further ado, I’ve rounded up the best splurge vs. save finds!

If any of these items give you the inspiration to give your living room a refresh, check out my post HERE to get some new ideas!

Side Tables

save vs. splurge nightstand

First up, I chose two side tables. I love the warm, neutral, and textured look of both of these. Our splurge item is by Dear Keaton, and it is this gorgeous Madison Papyrus Side Table. TJ Maxx carries a very similar version at an amazing price point. Their Grasscloth Side Table has the same shape and color palette. Either choice will add a great organic vibe to a room.

Console Tables

For console tables, I chose a sleek and streamlined look. I love the way this style blends seamlessly into any decor style. The Byron Waterfall Console Table by Pottery Barn is lightweight with the concrete look that is super popular right now. The Haught Console Table from Wayfair is budget-friendly and still gives that clean-lined and contemporary look. These tables would be perfect in an entryway or a living room.

Mirrors

save vs. splurge mirrors

The Gleaming Primrose Mirror from Anthropologie has been very popular for quite some time, and it’s easy to see why. It’s stunning with it’s vintage-inspired design and comes in a variety of sizes, so you can easily find the right size for where you want it. If you have been searching for a similar look without the price tag, then I found it! TJ Maxx has its own Ornate Arch Mirror that is almost a twin at a fraction of the price!

Lamps

textured lamps

I am also loving the textured and earthy look to these two lamps. We all know I adore McGee & Co, and this Decker Table Lamp is so pretty with its earthy and natural tones. This Kei Textured Table Lamp provides a similar look for less. Either will bring a rustic and contrasted look into your space.

Chairs

save vs. splurge chairs

I’m obsessed with the contemporary look of these chairs. They give an open and airy vibe to the space that I love. The Yates Chair from McGee & Co is aesthetically pleasing and comfortable with its fluffy cushion and deep seat. A more budget-friendly option is the Antanae Upholstered Armchair from Wayfair that looks so similar you almost can’t tell the difference between the two.

Lighting

splurge vs. save lighting

When it comes to lighting, I love the look of a chandelier. The Vendome Chandelier from McGee & Co has a minimalistic look while still providing a dramatic effect. The Sanibel 5 Chandelier by Joss & Main is nearly identical and comes in multiple finishes. It will give your home a traditional and inviting look.

How to Create a Holiday Centerpiece

‘Tis the season to break out the tinsel, garland, and ribbon to decorate our homes for the holidays. One of my favorite things to decorate with is greenery, specifically garland. Beyond mantels and banisters, I also love incorporating greenery into floral arrangements. Whether displayed on coffee tables, entryway consoles, or anywhere else in your home, seasonal greenery and florals effortlessly add beauty to your space. Today, I’m sharing how to create a holiday-inspired centerpiece, ideal for any room in your home.

Greenery isn’t just for decorating your home. Try adding to wrapped gifts for an extra festive holiday touch! To see how I wrap my gifts, check out this post HERE and then head over to my Instagram for holiday greenery styling tutorials and even more seasonal inspiration!

A Follower Favorite Centerpiece

Smaller centerpiece

Shop this Centerpiece

This centerpiece was a follower favorite from last Christmas and the arrangement style is perfect for those places that don’t necessarily require height. Think coffee or dining room table. It might be small but it’s definitely not short on style thanks to it’s full, festive, and vibrant holiday appeal. To create the look of this centerpiece, stick with neutral colors like whites, silvers, golds, grays, and greens throughout.

When choosing a bowl for your floral arrangement, consider the overall color scheme of your holiday decor. I love this white option from Pottery Barn with it’s neutral modern design that can be used throughout the year, simply by swapping the decor. With both black and white color options available, it easily blends with any home design or decor style.

I used a variety of faux stems in this arrangement, including juniper, eucalyptus, and cedar stems to create varying layers of texture. Once your greenery is added, layer in different-sized ball ornaments. For a cohesive look, use the same or similar ornaments from your tree. Beyond a seamless look throughout your space, its the perfect way to use up those extra ornaments.

If you’re looking for an easy DIY ornament option you can make yourself within a few hours; that looks fabulous, head over to my Instagram reel HERE!

Larger arrangement

I still love this large centerpiece I made last year. I styled this arrangement in my foyer and I absolutely love how full and lush it looks against the neutral white walls.

For this look, start with a small faux Norfolk pine tree or something similar and place it in a large ceramic pot. Fill in any empty space within the pot with packaging materials. This will help keep the stems in place that you’ll be adding to the arrangement. If your tree sits too low inside the pot, add extra packaging materials underneath it or prop it up using a small book or block that will add height to the tree. Ideally, you want most of the tree visible from the rim of the pot.

Next, add individual stems to fill out the pot, giving the arrangement added height and texture. I prefer combining two to three styles of base stems within the arrangement for dimension. To complete this look, add roughly five accent branches. You can experiment with faux cedar greenery, pine cone stems, and berry branches until your desired look is achieved.

Watch me put this centerpiece together HERE!

Pieces you’ll need to for this holiday arrangement:

  • Large Pot or Vase
  • Small Pine Tree
  • 5 Cedar Branches
  • 5 Pine Cone Branches
  • 2 Pine Stems
  • 5 Blueberry Stems

This Year’s Large Arrangement

I was able to repurpose some of the same stems I used in last year’s arrangement to create a whole new look this year! I also changed up the placement of this larger piece, opting for the console table in the living room, with a smaller decorative tree in the foyer. It turned out beautifully and makes the perfect subtle festive statement that doesn’t detract from the staple statement piece of the room, the Christmas tree.

Click HERE for a peek at how to put this larger holiday arrangement together!

This is what I used for this look:

  • 3 Cypress stems (Sold out but linked similar options)
  • 6 Cedar Stems
  • 4 Eucalyptus Stems
  • 2 Lit Stem Bunches
  • 3 Juniper Stems

Make your home decor unique this holiday season with these beautifully designed centerpieces that are the perfect way to instantly give your home a quick festive makeover.
